The WAIFIND server provides each WAI user access to a facility-based database.
The facility database provides the location for each BLE or Wi-Fi access point, destination locations, and travel corridors for determining user position and for wayfinding.
The WAIFIND server provides the listing for relevant, active WAI users.
The WAIFIND server provides all active announcements and messages for the facility.
Facility Database
The facility database primary purpose is to document the layout of the facility and the location of the local wireless BLE and Wi-Fi access points. The WAI user device communicates with the WAIFIND server to communicate it's wireless position. Each WAI user device surveys the surroundings allowing the WAIFIND server to continually refine the positions and corridors, when not provided for in the facility provisioning. The WAIFIND server continually monitors the flow of users through corridors to identify congestion and to adjust wayfinding in response.
Active Users
Each WAI user device logs into the WAIFIND server to enable local facility services. The WAIFIND server maintains a directory of active users.
Messages and Announcements
The WAIFIND server maintains a repository of active messages and announcements. Announcements are relevant to any user device in a facility. Messages are relevant to one or more specific user devices in a facility. Messages are secured for privacy between the sender and the recipient and are discarded by the WAIFIND server once successfully delivered to each recipient WAI user device.
